Quote of the Day

“The art of economics consists of looking not merely at the immediate but at the lingering effects of any policy; it consists in tracing the consequences of that policy not merely for one group but for all groups.”

–From Brett Kunkle…don’t know who originally said it.

Ready or not, Here They Come!

So tomorrow’s the first day of school.  Ready or not, here they come!  I’ve spent the better part of the last two weeks preparing my classroom and such, and just today I began to feel like I’m finally getting out of the weeds.  I just put the finishing touches on everything at around 6 o’clock tonight.  It’s all locked and loaded, ready to go.

It occurred to me today just how blessed I am to have a job.  It didn’t have to go this way…the situation could be much, much worse.  I don’t say that to brag or gloat: I’m just incredibly thankful.
There really are an incredible amount of opportunities for being Christ’s ambassador where I work.  The possibilities to herald His message are endless.  Such is the case just about in any job, but especially in the field of teaching, and even more so in the particular situation in which I find myself.  Though it’s unwise for me to get into specifics, there are a number of circumstances brewing here that, you know, are more than circumstances.  The way it all adds up is a sure fingerprint of Providence.

Can’t wait for tomorrow.  Probably won’t get much sleep tonight.
