Ideologically Driven

Every time Obama and the mainstream media waxes eloquent about his opponents being “ideologically driven,” I want to wretch.

” ‘A bit much?’ said the desert to the grain of sand,” is always my first thought.  They are ideologically driven allright.  They just don’t like the ideology of the folks they accuse of being “ideologically driven.”  It’s a convenient way of dismissing opponents without engaging the ideas.

There’s lots of that going around these days…just lob a character attack, dust your hands off and call it a day.

Charles over at P.O.S has a great post on just that subject today.  Go check it out.

Great Concert

Dude….just got back from the Billy Joel/Elton John concert.

Free tickets.

Five minutes from my house.

Next to the woman I love.

Fifth row…I could have lobbed a boulder and crushed Billy’s piano, if I wanted.  Couple of times was close enough to shake his hand..didn’t take the opportunity…bummer.

Billy’s saxophone player looked eerily like Will Farrell, especially when he played the Jazz flute.

My ears are just now recovering…after the concert, people’s voices sounded like they were talking through a window fan (think Chris Farley: “LUUUUKEE, I AM YOUR FAAATHEERR!”).

Will post pictures soon.
