Today Albert Mohler blogged on the American worldview, and how that is growing in prevalence in the church. He argues that this has many tough implications for the state of orthodoxy, especially evangelism. I agree.
Saying we’ve kinda got it backwards is an understatement. We’ve put the wrong Person in the dock, yet many Americans can’t seem to conceive of it any other way. We are drunk on our own autonomy.
On a related note: most Christians define their own theology. Whatever happened to being in but not of the world? As I’ve heard it said: the ship must be out on the sea, but when water gets in the boat, that spells trouble. Well…we’d better start grabbin’ buckets.
I’ve been sniffin’ this trend for a while: see

Re. defining our own theology — I see that a lot. Didn’t they call that “making God in your own image” back in the day? And wasn’t that a bad thing?
