Check out this very funny anecdote from Sister Toldjah about Grace and Calvin Coolidge:

“In her later years, a reporter asked Grace Coolidge about the nature of her early romance with Calvin. In a rare moment of candor, she blurted, ‘Have you ever met my husband?’ Calvin and Grace once visited a chicken farm in Maryland, where the first lady witnessed a rooster copulating with a hen. Upon asking the farmer if the rooster did that often, Grace was informed that he did it several times a day. ‘Tell that to the president,’ she responded. ‘To the same hen?’ was Calvin’s reply. ‘No, Mr. President,’ said the red-faced farmer. ‘Tell that to Mrs. Coolidge,’ said the president.”

Dry humor at its best.

Here’s another one from Sister Toldjah: Andrew Sullivan eats it.

Joi at Evangelical Outpost reports about the “pro-Palestine” rally recently held in L.A (with picutures).
Also, here is an excerpt of a speech from a Hamas MP talking about how they use women and children as human shields.

Finally, check out Jonolan’s post on a poll on Palestinian attitudes to the Israel-Hamas conflict.  Two questions: 1) given that the poll was online, is it accurate (Jonolan seems to think so.  What do you think?), 2) should this pleasantly surprise us (shows more condemnation of Hamas than expected), or should we be disappointed by the poll (shows less condemnation than we expect).  At the very least, its something more interesting than just showing a yapping anti-Israeli protester on the TV.

The Essence of Human Nature

Fairly accurate, I’d say. Romans 7, anyone?
