Attention RSS Subscribers

I had a bit of trouble with my RSS feed, so I had to delete it and re-burn it tonight.

That little action of mine means that if you were a subscriber to my blog, you will need to subscribe again.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

The Definition of Insanity

The Tyra Banks show…so relevant…so truthful…can’t miss it.

Well, really, I can. I watched the show for the first time last week (don’t ask…long story.). The show I watched featured a few self-styled gurus coaching women on how to spot a bad boy and avoid him. The women in need of help had a history of dating the “wrong type.” You know, creeps, cheaters, liers, bad boys, etc, etc….common story.

The show set women up in a “speed dating” night, where they chatted with several men that the show pre-selected. Then, each woman chose a guy she liked and was attracted to. All this happened before the show. During the show, women were brought up on stage in groups with the guy each picked, and Tyra revealed what “type” each woman chose.

d'oh!

d'oh!

Most women, true to form, chose the “wrong” guy: some men revealed that they slept around often, others were discovered as liers (they were caught in lies and half truths during the show), and…one was even gay. All this was totally lost on the women.

“Ok, sounds interesting,” I said, “count me in.” I continued watching.

Next, one of the “gurus”–an “expert in body language–proceeded to tell each woman how the man gave signals of his sleaziness (or, in the one case, gayness…heck, even I spotted the guy before he was revealed as gay) via body language.

I didn’t buy everything she said, but reading body language is pretty benign…so ok, fair ‘nough.

The next part, though, had me rolling my eyes and shouting at the TV: she went on to coach the women on how to spot a “good man” and a “bad boy” by looking at facial structure.

She informed the audience that she could tell Barack Obama is a good man from his big ears (“you can tell he listens well”), hard jawline (“Tyra, I know he’s a hard worker”) and high forehead.barackobama

So, the man is comfortable allowing infanticide, shot down the “Born Alive Infant Protection Act” (which would give medical care to infants born alive from botched abortions…I don’t care the excuse. I’ve heard all the justifications; shooting that bill down was reprehensible.), and he has the audacity to tell Rick Warren that knowing when human life begins is “above (his) paygrade,” yet you can tell he’s a good man just by looking at his facial features….riiiiiight.

Sigh…unfortunately, these poor women will most likely take the “expert’s” advice lock, stock and barrel, and they will continue to have the same problems they had previous to coming on the show.

You can’t tell a man’s character by looking at his jawline! I don’t care if you can fly to Nicaragua with your ears, that doesn’ t make you a good listener. I’m wondering why I even need to say it.

HiScrivener, this one’s got your name all over it.

Enter Kazoo Man

If you are or were an 80′s metal fan, you might recall the hit Enter Sandman by Metallica.

The following video is a kazoo parody of the song. I love this video.  The bloke in the lower left corner cracks me up especially. I wonder how many hits the guy is gonna have after its all over:

Resources in the Blogosphere

I marvel constantly at the amount of resources for truth seekers out there in the blogosphere.  Yea, there’s lots of junk out there, but if you sift long enough, you’ll find some gold mines.mark-roberts

Might I suggest one for you?  Markdroberts.com.  Mark is an author, pastor, and speaker who has been blogging for nigh on five years now.  His site contains a treasure trove for anyone seeking answers to the Bible’s reliability.  I particularly find it helpful that he writes in series.  This adds necessary depth to thorny questions, and the blogosphere is not known yet for its depth on weighty matters.

If you have any quandaries about the Bible’s truthfulness, be sure to check out his writing.
